The success of your placement will rely on many things.
Perhaps most important is a comfortable, secure and friendly place for you to live in.
The location of your accommodation depends on the project you choose to join, and is normally in the home of a local family, within easy reach of your project and local amenities. (Internet, bars & cafés, supermarket, clinic, pharmacy, etc.). We do not use bed & breakfast, hostel or dorm accommodation, and the time spent with your hosts will give you the chance to experience and play an active part in traditional family and community life.
All our hosts have several years´ experience in welcoming volunteers into their homes, and most speak English as a second language. They are carefully selected to ensure that from the warm, friendly greeting on arrival ... to the sad farewells on departure ... you are with people who care.
A private bedroom with access to shared bathroom, kitchen and social areas will be provided. Most accommodation benefits from a variety of modern conveniences : telephone, television, cable, internet, a fully equiped kitchen, and laundry facilities. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to offer shared accommodation, and of course we can always arrange rooms for couples or friends who wish to share.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided each day, but remember that Bolivia is a nation addicted to food, and additional mid-morning snacks, afternoon teas and barbeque suppers are the norm. Prepare to gain a few pounds.!
